“…taking my first ceramics class a year ago changed my life and direction and making physical art seemed right. I was challenged in a new way by my ceramics instructor that allowed me to gain a love for the process of creating: with and learning about, the medium of clay. I would very much love to continue this journey. My goal is to complete requirement for my Associate in Fine Arts at Oakland Community College with honors. Then transferring I will continue to developed my knowledge, skills and techniques so I can continue to do what I love as a career and for community service.”

I took my first college ceramics class the second semester of my freshman year. The decision to switch to the Stamps School of Art and Design for the coming fall semester was based solely on this newfound passion [for ceramics]. I hope to continue to gather inspiration and knowledge from mentors and peers as I pursue a Bachelors of Fine Arts concentrating on ceramics.
